The Whole Truth

I

f you’re looking for a child of promise, let me introduce you to Khloé-Drew Valencia Kelly. Born to Jordan and Kierra Kelly, she weighed in at 6 pounds 12 ounces. Khloé-Drew’s maternal grandparents are Presiding Bishop J. Drew Sheard and renowned recording artist Karen Clark Sheard. Kierra is also a recording artist, new author and a Vice-President of the International COGIC Music Department. Khloé Drew’s dad, Jordan Kelly, works in education and is one of the happiest fathers in the world. In spite of the wonderful lineage and family, this couple found that trials and tribulations have no respect of persons. Leading up to the blissful day of her birth, Khloé-Drew’s parents faced a series of challenges since their December marriage in 2020. Marrying during the height of the pandemic was a huge challenge itself. However, the months that followed proved more stressful. The couple was excited and blessed to conceive a child but there were complications that followed, resulting in a miscarriage. Although they were heartbroken, they were again blessed to conceive but had similar results. This left them both heartbroken again. But God. “I believe in a village because people were interceding on our behalf,” Kierra said. “I believe in the prayers of the saints.” Jordan spoke of similar situations during his struggles with their miscarriages. “God sent people to encourage us,” he said. “They would confirm that we would have a child.” Those prayers and prophesies sustained them through a trying time. The hope of God’s promise kept feeding

their faith and they were able to move forward. God’s promise was realized fully when she was delivered. Everything about Khloé-Drew proved to be beautiful with the favor of God stamped throughout it. Khloé means ‘blossoming’ and Drew means strong and wise. Valencia means ‘brave and strong,’ and it is also a fruit. On Kierra’s side of the family, Khloé-Drew is the third grandchild and on Jordan’s side she is the seventh grandchild. The number three represents the trinity, and the number seven rep resents completion. Their excitement for having Khloé-Drew is literally off the chart! “Having a little baby is like taking care of God’s gift,” Kierra said. “It makes me wonder if she will be a prophet to the nations, or the next billionaire, or a teacher or a superwoman.” Jordan’s assessment was just as spectacular. “Having a baby is like the toughest, most fun respon sibility that you will ever have in your life,” he ex - plained. “I know people talk about sleepless nights, but I feel I don’t want to sleep because I might miss a moment.” Upon reflection, both Kierra and Jordan agree that if they could have bottled their tears in this experience, they would fill a bathtub. his experience has taught me and helped me to always un derstand the true relationship between us and God,” Jordan said. “I learned to keep God’s Word close. We have to understand Jeremiah 29:11. You must under - stand His thoughts toward you. It strengthened my relationship
