Let’s be honest.There are some people who are lucky in life.We say to them, “You are so lucky.” According to Webster Dictionary, luck is “a force that brings good for tune or adversity.”

We all know someone who gets lots of breaks in life and we know people who can’t buy a break.We envy people who are lucky, especially those who are born with what we call a “silver spoon” in their mouth.We may not know them personally, but we have read of people who have incredible wealth, passed down to them from prior generations.Yet, there are some who have nothing but misfortune in their lives and it follows them everywhere they go. In the secular world, we strive for professional positions, such as doctors, lawyers, accountants, and corporate executives.We desire to become reality stars, like “America’s Next Top Model,” or become a singing sensation on “TheVoice.”We look at million - aires, celebrities and sports figures and wish we were them. In some urban communities, even gang bangers are revered. Within the Church Of God In Christ, our young men seek the highest office of bishop, and our young ladies aspire to be bishops’ wives.We admire our su

perintendents, supervisors, elders, evangelists, music directors, and other high-profile church leaders. There is nothing fundamentally wrong with aspiring for greatness. God has placed inside all of us gifts, talents, and the desire to reach and achieve our goals. As our faces differ, so do our gift(s). God’s plan for you is that you will use your gift to bless others. Therefore, it is your responsibility to nourish and cultivate your gifts and talents because your success comes from where God appoints you. The dictionary defines success as a “favorable or desired outcome; the fact of getting or achieving wealth, respect or fame. Success is the correct or desired result of an attempt.” Joshua 1:8 states,“This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.”
